The experiments done on 12 April in Jesolo relating to your Holophony system yielded, after initial analysis, positive results as to the validity of the product.

The reading, including the instant reading, of the power spectra of the electroencephalographic (EEG) signal reveals the correct activation of cerebral frequencies linked to the emotional states that are intended to be voluntarily induced in a person listening to holophonic music. Also, significant changes in the cardiac and respiratory rhythm were recorded.

The holophonic system allows real-life listening that results in a more effective transfer of the emotional information intended to be induced.

Each person listened to four different types of sound: type 1 DEMO, type 2 PANIC/FEAR, type 3 RELAX, type 4 SEXUAL.

The analysis of the EEG signal allows to study the quality of the information processed (e.g, prevalence of emotional, affective or mental information) and therefore strictly depends on the sound listened to and on the extent to which such information is container within the sound (which may reproduce a real-life simulation or a music). In this sense, the informative quality of the demo pieces was not steady for the entire duration of the experiments: for instance, during the RELAX stage real relax sounds alternated with others that did not fully hit the target.

This invalidated the reading of the EEG signal calculated as the mean over time, which was taken as the basic methodology for a preliminary qualitative study. Based on these initial findings, we comment as follows:

a) It is necessary to experiment with individual types of sounds (e.g. Relax) for a longer time;

b) it is necessary to carry out an accurate analysis of the piece with respect for the time frame (e.g. T=0+2 min 30s) to fully hit the information target rather than consider the aggregate average;

c) It is necessary to carry out an analysis with a number of persons while taking into account the specific response thereof in that each of us has a subjective and unique way of handling information; hence, the EEG analysis carried out on each person at rest is to be taken as the benchmark (basic informative structure).

d) Experimenters must be able, during experiments, to directly listen to the sound wearing headsets.
